Understanding the Cost of Birth Photography: What You Need to Know

FILED IN: Birth

Are you interested in birth photography, but you’re worried about the cost? Listen, I get it; my jaw dropped when I first started looking at pursuing birth photography. Understanding the cost of birth photography is important because it can seem so expensive and out of reach.

So, grab your favorite beverage (hot mocha for me, please) and let’s talk about why birth photography is an investment in your family’s story.

Birth Photography Requires a Special Skill Set and Experience

As a birth photographer, I am more than just a skilled photographer. I’m passionate about birth and have a deep understanding of the birthing process. I know how to work in low light, respect your privacy and intimacy, and I know how to capture the moments that matter the most.

Birth Photography Takes a Lot of Time

I’m on call 24/7 leading up to a birth. My phone stays on, my gear is ready, and I check in regularly. Labor and birth can last hours, a day, or longer. Postpartum, I stay up to two hours to get those first sweet moments with your newborn. (Then I peace out to let you get your well deserved rest.) Then comes processing and editing to ensure the final images meet my high standards and your expectations.

Birth Photography And Other Stuff

The cost of birth photography includes more than my time and skills. It also covers the cost of professional equipment, including cameras, lenses, lighting, and software. Additionally, I invest in ongoing training and education to continuously improve my skills, learn more about birth, and stay up-to-date on techniques and trends.

Not to mention, I’m the primary caregiver in our household, so when I’m away, I have to call in back up to help with my kids.

So How Much Is Birth Photography in Tifton?

The short answer: it depends.

On average, you can expect to pay anywhere between $1500-$4000 for a birth photography package that includes digital images with printing rights.

Birth is a life-changing experience that you’ll never forget, and having professional photos to look back on can help you remember all the emotions, details, and love that surrounded you during that special time.

These photos are not just for you; they’re a gift to your child. They’ll show them how loved and welcomed they were from the very beginning, and these images will be cherished by you, your child, and your family for generations to come.
